Scuba Gear & Equipment Service
Your scuba gear is life-support equipment — and regular service isn’t just about performance, it’s about safety, reliability, and peace of mind. At Mountain Bay Scuba, we inspect, service, and maintain your equipment so it’s ready when you are, whether you’re diving locally or heading out on a big trip.
Routine servicing helps extend the life of your gear, prevents unexpected failures, and ensures everything performs the way it was designed to. If you’re unsure whether something needs service, just bring it in… we’re happy to take a look and talk through your options.

BCD (Buoyancy Control Device) Service
Your BCD plays a critical role in buoyancy, trim, and comfort underwater. Over time, valves can wear, inflators can stick, and internal bladders can develop slow leaks.
Our BCD service includes:
- Inspection of the bladder, seams, and dump valves
- Inflator and hose inspection and servicing
- Leak testing and function checks
If your BCD doesn’t inflate or deflate smoothly, won’t hold air, or just hasn’t been serviced in a while, it’s time to have it looked at.
Regulator Service
Regulators should breathe smoothly and consistently on every dive. Regular servicing ensures proper airflow, correct intermediate pressure, and reliable operation at all depths.
Our regulator service includes:
- Complete disassembly and cleaning
- Replacement of worn service parts
- Performance tuning and bench testing
We recommend regulator servicing on a regular schedule or anytime you notice changes in breathing effort, free-flowing, or inconsistent performance.
Tank Inspections & Testing
Scuba cylinders require periodic inspections to remain safe and legal to fill. We offer tank inspections to help ensure your cylinders meet current safety standards.
Tank services include:
- Visual Inspections (VIPs) to check for corrosion, damage, or contamination
- Coordination for hydrostatic testing when required
If your tank is out of date, we’ll let you know what’s needed to get it back in service.
Not Sure What You Need?
If you’re unsure when your gear was last serviced — or what service it needs — stop by the shop or give us a call. We’ll inspect your equipment, explain what we find, and help you prioritize what needs attention now versus what can wait.
Keeping your gear serviced means fewer surprises, safer dives, and more time enjoying the underwater world.
